Goodbye Nici

Today was the day - Nici left to go from Leipzig to Frankfurt and from there she will be leaving to go to New York for the next couple of days in about 30 minutes.
I was at the airport with 5 other friends to tell her bye and it was sure hard to do so. I was now standing on the other side of the gate- watching someone I really love leave for a year, or maybe two or even more...
It was/is a strange feeling: A mixture of excitement for her because I really know that she will have a wonderful time there, of sadness because I can't imagine not being with her for soooo long (We spent almost every day together lately!) and of fear - the fear of being too far away to stay as close as we are now.
I know that we share a very special friendship - Nici knows that too. Anyway it seems really hard to be so far apart!
I just wanted you all to know about her as she is a wonderful friend, a soul mate (?) and one more 50%/50% (German/American) - like me - soon! (Was all of this correct English???)
I love you Nici and am looking forward to hearing from you soon!
